The Cook’s Science Wall features live insect habitats, giving children the opportunity to observe living creatures up close while learning about biology, ecosystems, and conservation. One of the room’s most captivating features is Theo, a real black bear from Canada, allowing children to see the size, beauty, and detail of a black bear while learning more about North American wildlife.
Children can also explore an abundance of dinosaurs, fossils, and prehistoric displays, bringing Earth’s ancient history to life through discovery and imagination.
The newly expanded Science Lab includes beautiful quartz countertops that can
accommodate an entire classroom. Quartz is an abundant mineral in Alabama, making this feature both functional and educational. Throughout the room, children can enjoy learning stations focused on chemistry, weather, robotics, nature, space, geology, and more.
A favorite interactive feature is the colorful Lite-Brite Wall, where children can use light, color, patterns, and creativity to design glowing works of art. This playful experience introduces young learners to concepts such as illumination, color mixing, spatial awareness, and creative problem-solving.
