The Renaissance Castle sets the tone for the loft space of the museum. Florence, Alabama was named after Florence, Italy and the European city has strong roots in our history. A Renaissance Faire is held every October in Wilson Park downtown Florence. Medieval time was a time of growth and learning in Europe. Children can step back in time as they dress up and pretend to be knights, kings, queens, princes, and princesses. When they enter the castle in their costumes, they can reenact history and join the King and Queen for a royal feast!
